Couldn't agree more with you on the protection from our government. Can only imagine the damaged all these had done to the tourism industry. Visit Indonesia? Let's try to make it a safer country first.

We lived in the Somerset apartment not far from Marriott after the 2003 bomb, and once in a while there were guards with machine guns standing on our gate entrance, as they got a tip-off about the possible terror. We normally went to Marriott for Sunday brunch.

Our bar - Cazbar - is located just across Ritz Carlton (Ritz also was our favourite spot for Sunday brunch). It is my baby as I watched it since we chose the name for the bar, attended its first opening, and no am watching it become more popular each day. Everytime I go back to Indonesoa I always go to Caz a few times.

For so long after 2003 I thought Mega Kuningan has become a safe area. It's probably the one of the few areas I feel safe walking in the pedestrian alone. The owner of the area certainly isn't stupid to let the terror happens again.

But then Ritz was bombed, and it's in the roundabout, right across Marriott.

You're right, life goes on, and we can't let the terrors dictate our lives. We should take precautions, then continue to keep our lives going.

I am more mad towards our government which fails to exercises its basic jobs: to protect its nation and its citizens. We have the RIGHT to have the sense of security. Which hasn't happened yet in Indonesia.

Yes, we can try to protect ourselves and there's nothing wrong to be cautious but when fears starts to control our lives then that's not living at all :)

How very true and truly supportive. If you're too afraid to go places because of this and that, you might as well stay at home. But then, bad things could happen in your house too.
